NSW Premier's Teacher Scholarship 2006

International best practice in the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in environmental education.
In 2006 Doug Reckord, Principal of Bournda EEC received the NSW Premier's Teachers Energy Australia Scholarship for Environmental Education.

The purpose of the Premier’s Teacher Scholarships Program is to promote teaching excellence in NSW by providing travel scholarships to NSW teachers to undertake a study tour overseas or in Australia.

Focus:
To study international best practice in the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in environmental education.
To collate resources and case studies of innovative practice to share with colleagues in Australia
Where-ever possible I also sought:
To identify centres of excellence in environmental science, environmental education, youth leadership and sustainability education.
