Bournda Environmental Education Centre (EEC) located in Bournda National Park can assist teachers conduct field trips in environmental and outdoor education for students from K - 12.  Bournda EEC offers:

• traditional field work programs
• training and development opportunities for teachers
• school based programs
• opportunities to enhance links between schools and environmental agencies.

On request, twenty four hour EEC staffing may be provided at cost.

FIELD PROGRAMS

Teachers are encouraged to consult with EEC staff prior to their school's field trip to devise a suitable field program.   Syllabus-specific programs from 1-5 days are available providing fun and hands-on learning experiences in a wide range of KLA's for years K-12.  New programs can be developed on request or may be chosen from our featured programs.

ACCOMMODATION ALTERNATIVES

1.              Available within Bournda National Park are:

• The field studies huts, consisting of a main hut used for visiting staff accommodation, eating and classroom activities and four A-frame sleeping huts which can accommodate up to 40 students.  Cost for accommodation is $5 per student per night (GST included).

• The national park camping area.  A large shelter shed in the camping area containing a camp kitchen with gas hotplates, food preparation benches and a lockable storage cupboard. Cost for accommodation is $5 per student per night (GST included) and the cost for hire of shelter shed kitchen is $40 per night (GST included).

2.    Off park accommodation is available at:

• Manna Park, between Bournda and Merimbula.
• Wambiri Youth Camp at Tathra
